Gabriel Network Angel Friends are no stranger to showing love to expected mothers as they anticipate the wonderful, joyous wait of the birth of a child. Waiting for the birth of a child marks one of the happiest moments in a mother’s life. God honors celebrations and Gabriel Network Angel Friend Teams find it a privilege and an honor to host a baby shower for an expecting mom. What better way to show a mom an example of love by celebrating the birth of her unborn child by showering mom and the baby with gifts. This is one of the biggest milestones that a woman achieves and therefore, wishes to celebrate by making joyous memories. The joy of a newborn is unlike any other joy in the world, especially for the parents. It brings joy to an expectant mother to know her Angel Friend team cares enough to encourage her and her unborn baby by hosting a baby shower.
The Bible tells us that “the joy of the Lord is our strength” (Neh. 8:10). You can’t make it very far in the Christian life without the joy that comes from celebrating. Did you ever consider the fact that the life of Jesus was filled with celebration? It’s not the first thing that typically comes to my mind. Yet when you read the account of His birth, His life and His resurrection, you can’t help notice that celebration was all around Him. His birth was celebrated with a bright star in the sky, choirs of angels, great joy and gifts. His first miracle was performed at a wedding. Even prior to being put to death, Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples.
Why is celebration important? Because God wants us to celebrate to honor Him and remember all the ways He has blessed us.
It’s so easy to take this gift of celebration for granted. It’s easy to get caught up in our problems, our lives, our work and the commercialism we’re bombarded with. It can be easy to forget that ALL of our blessings come from God. And it’s easy to miss the importance of celebrating those blessings.
As Christians, we have a huge opportunity to model for others what celebration is really about – remembering and honoring what God has done for us, especially the gift of children. It’s up to each of us to allow God to shine His love and light through us to those in need – especially the pregnant mothers we serve. Joy is a beautiful icon of God’s love, a shining invitation to join a new family of faith.
Heavenly Father, thank you for being our example of Love. Thank you for imparting your perfect wisdom onto us even from our very first moments. Bless these moms as they wait with great anticipation to see their new baby and the Angel Friends that wait with them. I cannot wait to see how these newborn babies will impact this world for your glory, Lord! Amen.
